Climate Change SBC5

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing young and old today. If you don’t know what climate change is, a basic explanation is that humans are releasing too much CO2 and other greenhouse gasses into the air, causing it to get stuck in the atmosphere and trap in infrared radiation, or as we know it, heat. If our air pollution isnt toned down soon, we could see irreversible damage by 2030, according to this United Nations article (https://www.un.org/press/en/2019/ga12131.doc.htm). You may wonder what you can do at home to stop this, here is a small list of things you can do to slow it down: recycle more, use LED lightbulbs, Overall use less electricity (maybe even design rooms around natural light). There are even bigger things you can do, but they might get into very costly territory such as getting an electric or hybrid car, or powering your house with solar panels.(https://www.curbed.com/2017/6/7/15749900/how-to-stop-climate-change-actions) It may not seem like much but every bit of effort counts.

Hey Evan, I’m Jasmin I read your blog and found it very interesting. I definitely agree with you and have actually been trying to cut down on electricity use when I can. In your opinion which one things you listed will help the most with slowing down climate change?

Driving an electric car, or powering your house with solar panels would be the most effective, but its a lot easier said than done.
